Cited formulas, documented limitations
Every formula on every calculator is grounded in a citable source - the FDA-approved prescribing information, a USP/ISO standard, a clinical practice guideline (e.g. the Endocrine Society 2018 TRT guideline), or a peer-reviewed pharmacokinetics reference (Rowland & Tozer; Gibaldi & Perrier). Each calculator’s assumptions page lists the math, the source, and the limitations of each assumption. A cited formula speaks only to the mathematical claim - it does not mean the calculator output is appropriate for any specific person. Always verify any number with a licensed clinician and the actual product labelling for your medication.
Syringe markings and devices
U-100 insulin syringes are defined by USP <1601> and ISO 8537:2016 as 100 units = 1 mL exactly (so 1 unit = 0.01 mL). The calculator uses this standard to translate volume in mL into the matching unit marking. Always confirm the markings on your specific syringe or device before drawing or administering any medication.
Reconstitution and storage
